Our Mission

The mission of The Forestlands Conservation Foundation is to preserve biological diversity and a network of natural ecological systems through land conservation. Our goal is to increase the size of existing nature preserves, to increase the connectivity of existing protected areas, and to create refugia for wildlife and plants where ecological and evolutionary processes can occur on the scale needed for long-term biodiversity persistence.

We work to preserve Eastern temperate deciduous forest and related habitats in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio. Across Eastern United States. Our goal is to protect one thousand acres by 2030.

About

The Forestlands Conservation Foundation was founded in 2025 out of deep concern about the staggering loss of Eastern temperate deciduous forest and related habitats over the last decades, and the increasing rate of land development and species extinctions.

We are based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
